Fame Remake “starring” Thomas Dekker
Who is Thomas Dekker? Why would anyone want to re-enact the childhood nightmare that was “Fame”? God only knows why (and perhaps a few studio execs). Nevertheless Fame is coming back to cinemas in the form of a remake. I’m not so sure that the cheesiness of Fame could be eloquently put back on to screen in the 21st Century. It was camp in the eighties. It is going to be HYPER-CAMP in the noughties.
It hasn’t stopped some people from getting into talks already and one of those lucky (leg-warmer loving) actors is none other than Thomas Dekker. Who’s that? I hear you say. Well he stars in the TV show Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles as the very annoying John Connor.
Please Hollywood. Leave the 80’s alone. They were great for some, awful for most, but everyone agrees that you should leave it be. Any thoughts?
