God no! Why would they do this to my youth? I loved Footloose. Okay, it was really camp in an 80’s way, but damn if it was entertaining. It seems as if some bright spark thinks it’s a good idea to re-create the exact same movie starring a person who can clearly sing and dance but (in my opinion) is incapable of any acting ability. Sac Efron (star of High School Musical) has been suggested for the lead (Kevin Bacon was the lead in the original). Let’s hope Judgement Day gets to us quicker than this shamble of an idea.
