Studio Ghibli brings us Ponyo on the Cliff by the Sea

The Japanese studio that continues to baffle this website () releases their latest movie called: "Ponyo on the Cliff by the Sea". Okay, I know that this comes from the "legendary director" who was responsible for (), but this is a stupid title (IMHO).

Let's ignore the fact that to me, all Studio Ghibli work looks like it came straight from the artists of Dogtanian and the Three Muskehounds. Alongiside this, not one person has explained to me the significance, purpose or even excuse why there was a catbus in "My Totoro". Let's ignore the fact that these movies being (on occasion) aesthetically pleasing and concentrate on making a better title. If we named all U.S. movies using the same logic, The Dark Knight would have been thus:

"The billionaire who fights crime at night, whinges that he can't be with his one , whilst simultaneously being a ruthless business man dressed in a suit by day and latex at night, returns for a to which wasn't when Batman began, it's just that it Joel Schumaker made everything neon in the films preceding that and...."

Okay, I give up. Maybe I'm being a bit harsh with this matter, but What's the point in being specific? Why couldn't they call it: "A fish named Ponyo". Wouldn't that be better? Do we need to know the exactly location of the aforementioned Ponyo?

Anyway, remember to join the ongoing discussion of whether Studio Ghibli is actually pointless or not over in our FORUM.
