Richard Kelly’s The Box Poster

Submitted by Richard Mann on April 8, 2009 – 2:06 amNo Comment

theboxRichard Kelly is a man I have to despise. Yes he is the genius behind Donnie Darko and the less popular but still inspiring Southland Tales. I simply have to despise this fellow because he has managed to make very impressive films whilst I remain simply an avid fan….and he is my age!

How gutting is that! I realise that Angelina Jolie is also my age but I’ll allow her to have success due to her obvious good looks, her acting heritage and the fact that er….I wouldn’t look as nice in a Tomb Raider outfit!

Ahem. Anyway, the visionary writer and director Richard Kelly has a new film out at the end of the year called The Box. Don’t even bother trying to find the film using the search function on IMDB. It took me ages as there are so many. Just click this very helpful link here. The poster for the film has been released and is included here for your judgment.

Synopsis:

Norma and Arthur Lewis, a suburban couple with a young child, receive a simple wooden box as a gift, which bears fatal and irrevocable consequences. A mysterious stranger, delivers the message that the box promises to bestow upon its owner $1 million with the press of a button. But, pressing this button will simultaneously cause the death of another human being somewhere in the world; someone they don’t know.
